Miss Ryan currently has a national training number in Burns and Plastics surgery in Wales. From August 2020-Feb 2022, Daisy worked at Stoke Mandeville hospital as an RCS fellow and Plastics/ Burns SpR. Whilst there she completed research, supported by the Restore Research team, investigating the discordance between Patient Reported and Clinician Reported Outcome Measures to understand patient and clinician priorities in scar management. This research formed part of her Masters by Research, which Daisy is due to complete this September. Thanks to Daisy’s hard work throughout the year, Stoke Mandeville Hospital have become the only unit in the South of England to hold a Satellite HTA licence allowing them to store allograft on site. This progress has been fantastic for patient care and has helped the development of further research projects from the department investigating immune response to allograft coverage for both major and non-resuscitation burns.
Restore would like to both congratulate and thank Miss Ryan for her fantastic research in burns and scarring and ultimately helping to advance Burns’ patients care and outcomes.
