We are very pleased to announce that Rebeca Arroyo Hornero has been honoured with an award at a recent meeting of the The Transplantation Society in Hong Kong. Rebeca, a Restore funded DPhil student at the University of Oxford received the TTS award for her research work on immunomodulation under the supervision of Dr Fadi Issa, Dr Joanna Hester and Professor Kathryn Wood. The TTS Award recognises the achievements of those who have made significant contributions to the field of transplant science and celebrates young researchers who will go on to become the “future leaders in transplantation”.
Rebeca successfully identified a stable and highly functional population of regulatory T cells which have the potential in the future to be used therapeutically in burns patients to promote skin graft survival. Restore are very pleased that Rebeca’s excellent work has been recognised by The Transplantation Society- we wish her every continued success in her work.
