Dr Fadi Issa is to become a member of Restore’s Scientific Advisory Committee. Dr Issa is an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Plastic Surgery at the University of Oxford, from which he holds a DPhil in transplantation immunology. Dr Issa also has honorary appointments at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Having both a strong academic background in immunology, as well as working within the clinical environment as a surgeon means that Dr Issa is well placed to help the committee identify basic science which has the potential to improve clinical therapy. Dr Issa hopes to help steer the committee towards its goal of evaluating research findings and novel therapies to solve complex problems in burns and scarring.

Commenting on his recent appointment, Dr Issa said “I am really excited to be joining the Scientific Advisory Committee. Restore have always been at the forefront of translational research in burns and I look forward to seeing this work continue.”
