Calling all UK medical students: we are extending the deadline for the Restore Essay Prize 2016-2017 with updated terms and conditions.
Essays are invited with either of the following two titles:
- “What is the evidence that a scar can affect someone psychologically?”
- “How may new technologies be enlisted to improve burns prevention?”
This annual competition is a fantastic chance to develop your portfolio, enhance your knowledge of burns and plastic surgery and win a cash prize of £1000. The competition is open to all medical students who are registered at UK medical schools.
There will be a first prize of £1000 as well as runner-up prizes. Each prize will be expected to contribute to the cost of either an elective placement in burns or plastic surgery, or a summer research project in burns or scarring.
In addition to the financial reward, the prize winner will also receive a one-off mentoring meeting with Restore to receive feedback and guidance on how to bring their essay to publication. Please note that we cannot offer continuing support or guarantee that a publication will occur.
All entries must be submitted to essayprize@restore-research.org.uk along with a completed authorship form by the 31st July 2017.
Essays must be no longer than 4000 words in length (please see the terms and conditions for full instructions and guidance).
All participants must abide by the terms and conditions. The up to date terms and conditions are available below and contain full details of the competition and how to enter.
